Here’s one of our new favorite stories. Sound familiar?

Annette was constantly running over to her mom’s house. Her Dad had passed away last year and her mom was living at home completely alone and frail. Annette would get these daily “panic calls” from her mom, so she was having to constantly run over to her mom’s house and attempting to maintain two households and her career and some semblance of a life. Of course, she was frazzled, exhausted and completely overwhelmed.

When Annette came to us, she had no idea what to do about their disparate living situations, but knew that she did not want to live in the same house with her mom. We gave her a variety of options, letting her choose the one that felt best for her. The solution – we did a master suite addition. Now, Annette has her own space and her mom still has her own house. They are together on the same piece of property and can simply connect through a doorway. Now her Mom feels safer having someone close by, Annette can breathe more deeply having a better handle on the situation – only having to oversee one household, living in a beautiful space that feels good to her!
